It\u2019s that time again when major airlines start issuing schedule changes for the upcoming fall season. Whenever you get a schedule change e-mail, be sure to note down your confirmation number and search for the original ticketed itinerary in your e-mail. Compare both itineraries and see what changed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/files\/2013\/08\/aachange5.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5404\" alt=\"aachange5\" src=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/files\/2013\/08\/aachange5.png\" width=\"645\" height=\"521\" srcset=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/\/sites\/12\/2013\/08\/aachange5.png 645w, http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/\/sites\/12\/2013\/08\/aachange5-300x242.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 645px) 100vw, 645px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The airline could\u2019ve cut one of your segments and might\u2019ve given you a different airline number. The aircraft equipment might\u2019ve changed and you might need to choose new seats. The segment could\u2019ve been cancelled and you might\u2019ve been rebooked on the same route, but at a different time. I\u2019ve seen it all including different arrival airports and departing airports, so please make sure to compare both itineraries and see what the airline has changed.<\/p>\n<p>After you see what has changed, you need to double check your itinerary online.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/files\/2013\/08\/aachange1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5400\" alt=\"aachange1\" src=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/files\/2013\/08\/aachange1.png\" width=\"716\" height=\"387\" srcset=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/\/sites\/12\/2013\/08\/aachange1.png 716w, http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/\/sites\/12\/2013\/08\/aachange1-300x162.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 716px) 100vw, 716px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It looks like flight 1357 from SJU-JFK (San Juan, Puerto Rico to New York) was one of my schedule changes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/files\/2013\/08\/aachange2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5401\" alt=\"aachange2\" src=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/files\/2013\/08\/aachange2.jpg\" width=\"663\" height=\"744\" srcset=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/\/sites\/12\/2013\/08\/aachange2.jpg 663w, http:\/\/first2board.com\/pointssummary\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/\/sites\/12\/2013\/08\/aachange2-267x300.jpg 267w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 663px) 100vw, 663px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Since I mostly fly on American, schedule changes can be a headache if you want an upgrade. That\u2019s because only on American, you have to \u201crequest\u201d your 500-mile upgrades since it\u2019s not automatic. If the schedule change is significant and you don\u2019t like it, you may be able to cancel your ticket for free without penalty. Once there is a significant schedule change, the airline is free to modify your ticket.
