I booked the Sheraton Bogota hotel for $99+ tax ($113) on a BRG (Best Rate Guarantee) rate. The Sheraton Bogota is located in the Sauzalito neighborhood which is close to the airport and far from the downtown city-center. I chose this location because I wanted to see and experience the different neighborhoods of Bogota.<\/p>\n

I took a cab from the Hilton to the Sheraton Bogota for about $15 USD.<\/p>\n

As you enter the hotel, there is a 24 hour security officer stationed to the left of the lobby.<\/p>\n

During check-in, I was notified that their computers weren\u2019t working and the front desk agent had to check me in. It took almost 20 minutes for me to get my room key because they had to look through a clipboard with room assignments, made credit card imprints, passport copies, and that ultimately led me to sign four documents. Bear in mind that there was only 1 front desk agent working at the time and I had a huge line behind me. I was assigned a junior suite which I used a Suite Night Award certificate and cleared five days prior to my arrival.<\/p>\n

I went up to the room and it didn\u2019t feel like a Junior Suite. There was a main living room area with a small dining table, work desk, TV, coffee table, and sofa.<\/p>\n

It didn\u2019t feel like a Junior Suite to me because usually you can see the bedroom from the living room in plain sight. However, in this case, I could close the bedroom doors and have privacy from the living room which makes it a one-bedroom suite.<\/p>\n

The bedroom contained a King sized bed, TV, chair, and ottoman.<\/p>\n

The bathroom was small and contained the usual Sheraton amenities.<\/p>\n

After settling into my room, I headed to the Sheraton Club Lounge. The sign said that the lounge was closed on Sundays and Holidays.<\/p>\n

According to a thread on FlyerTalk<\/a>, I thought Sheraton Club Lounges were now open 7 days a week. However, this is not the case at the Sheraton Bogota. Fortunately there are convenience stores around the hotel within walking distance.<\/p>\n

Since there were no evening appetizers, I ordered room service. I had the worst buffalo chicken wings in my life since they were very hard and hurt my teeth trying to chew them. I would avoid room service at all costs from the Sheraton Bogota.<\/p>\n

During check-out, the line was ridiculously long due to the number of people checking in at 4pm (I requested a 4pm late checkout). The security officer in the lobby directed me to skip the line because I was checking out (I got a lot of angry stares).<\/p>\n

I was charged an extra $75 for an extra person\u2019s fee because I only stated 1 adult in my reservation (You cannot sneak additional people in due to security in the lobby). This was totally my fault and I don\u2019t blame the hotel for that.<\/p>\n

Overall, the Sheraton Bogota left me with a bad taste because of the Club Lounge situation. I love Sheraton hotels because of the evening appetizers, breakfast in the mornings, and access to snacks\/drinks throughout the day. I had to resort to room service and it was pretty bad. In addition, the Sheraton Bogota does seem to be lacking in front desk staff. I would not recommend the Sheraton Bogota hotel and won\u2019t be staying here in the future.<\/p>\n
