I booked the F6 Design Hotel in Geneva, Switzerland for 10,800 American Airlines miles. I chose this hotel because I wanted to explore Northern Geneva since the previous hotel I stayed in was pretty much the heart of the city center. Hotels in Geneva are super expensive and I felt like I got a good deal for 10,800 AA miles.<\/p>\n

The hotel is very close to Cornavin main central train station and it\u2019s only an 8 minute walk to the F6 Design Hotel. It was raining hard that day, so I was glad the hotel was so close within walking distance of the train station.<\/p>\n

I was greeted warmly by the front desk agent and was a little surprised by the question she asked. She said that the room was prepaid (yeah, I know), but that I would have to pay 3CHF in taxes. I thought my room was already prepaid with taxes included. I didn\u2019t put up a fight, so I paid the 3CHF which wasn\u2019t very much. That was the first time my room has been held hostage until the taxes were paid on an AAdvantage Hotel award.<\/p>\n

The hotel also has Apple iMac computers with a printer in the business center.<\/p>\n

My room was small and contained a Queen sized bed, functional desk, minibar, coffee maker, and a large flat screen TV.<\/p>\n

\"f6design4\"<\/a> \"f6design5\"<\/a> \"f6design6\"<\/a> \"f6design7\"<\/a> \"f6design8\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The bathroom was small and ergonomic containing a sink, bath amenities, hair dryer, and a shower.<\/p>\n

Breakfast was included in my rate and the breakfast room was quite nicely decorated. After all, it is a design hotel but much of it resembles cheap IKEA furniture.<\/p>\n

The breakfast spread was continental and consisted of various meats, cheeses, hard boiled eggs, pastries, cereal, yogurt, and bread.<\/p>\n

There was also a coffee machine and various juices.<\/p>\n

I had a little bit of everything, but the highlight was the fresh croissants. I am a sucker for croissants and especially the chocolate filled ones.<\/p>\n

I highly recommend this hotel if you just want to get out of the city-center area of Geneva. The hotel is located close to the red light district and an active nightlife scene, but it\u2019s only an 8 minute walk to the central station and a 28 minute walk to the city-center. I didn\u2019t do much in the area around the hotel when I stayed there because it was pouring rain all day.<\/p>\n
