So after dinner on the first night, we went to the night show. I forget what it was called, but it was a like a welcome show where they introduce you to the ship and also highlight some of the events and shows during the cruise. It was highly recommended for first time cruisers as it may have some handy information for us. We went to the show and we were given a list of shows and events during the cruise. During that time, we started to plan our nights and we had our sights on a comedy show and a newlywed game show the following night.

So I started reading BossyPants by Tina Fey on our flight down to Miami and i was hooked. Even though my wife started it before me, I was ahead of her in the book as i kept hogging it. Well sometime before this dinner, i got to the section where Tina Fey and her newlywed husband took a cruise for her honeymoon. I would highly recommend reading this book just for that section since it was hilarious. The rest of the book was hilarious too but this was the best part.

As you can see, they meet Dan Dan the Party Man on their cruise.

In the first minute of the show, a man comes out and introduces himself:

He introduces himself as Dan Dan the Party Man. It was that instant that I realized, oh man this is the same dude! I did second guess that he may be a RCL personality and that it could be some random dude on any given cruise that introduces himself to that, like the people in the Mickey Mouse custumes. From the book, i did deduce that it was the same person. I didn’t have the heart to tell my wife about it as she hadn’t read that portion yet. I implored her to read it and then she eventually got just as excited as I did about. She was a bit bummed we couldn’t share that moment together.

He was a great personality and made a few good jokes. I don’t really remember the rest of the show as i was so focused on him being the dude from the book.

A few days later we were going back to our room and we had the book with us. We bumped into him in the ship lobby and we asked for his autograph. He obliged and he sign that section of the book. This totally made our trip.

Afterwards, we passed by the casino and saw that they were giving the guests lessons on the different games. I think that’s a great way to get the guests gambling as I am always overwhelmed about the casino games, especially Craps.

We took a quick tour of the boat and walked along most of the decks. Somehow afterwards, I managed to fit in a training run on the ship.
