DFW Centurion Lounge and Free L’Occitane Gift Bag Review

DFW Centurion Lounge and Free L’Occitane Gift Bag Review

I went to this lounge on my most recent mileage run to PDX. I went to this lounge on Oct 19th. I wasn’t aware it opened only the previous Tuesday.

This lounge took the place of two restaurants that were here. I think this was a bad location for a restaurant as it was hard to see and hard to find. It took me a few minutes to find where this lounge was, even though I was looking for it. I think as a lounge, it would be fine location.

It is free for any American Express Platinum Cardholder. They can also take in two additional guests (three people in total). Anyone else with an American Express card can get in for $50. I do not know if Amex cards not issued directly by American Express (like the Citi AAdvantage Amex card) would count as an Amex card. Just to be safe, bring an Amex issued card.

The American Express Logo is imprinted on the wall next to the Centurion sign at the entrance to the lounge.

When I went in, I was greeted by the staff and had a quick explanation of the lounge. I signed up for a short 15 minute massage. I also got a short tour of the facilities.

When signing up for my massage, I got a free gift bag! According to my wife, who was the proud recipient of the L’Occitane gift bag, it was a very expensive bag. Here are the items:

I hope to get this bag again in two weeks when I fly home from SYD. I’ll need a few massages after 14 hours in coach.

There are some small snacks and drinks spread out around the lounge. A nice touch was a board showing departures so you can check on your flight.

The spa has many services, including facials, massage, and manicures. You can go on the website to see the menu of services. Spa entrance to the left of the first picture below.

There are also two shower rooms as well, next to the bathrooms.

There was a kid or family room with an Xbox, which is kind of cool. Just next to the family room is a meeting room, which is first come first serve. It’s a nice touch for business travelers.

They serve three meals buffet style a day and there was an in-house chef cooking the food. I stopped in for their lunch assortment.

I managed to quickly meet the chef and took a picture of him!

They also have a full service bar with some signature drinks. Everything is complimentary but I only had their pineapple fresco with my lunch. I only had a few minutes to eat so I ate quickly and rushed to my flight.

This lounge was amazing for a domestic lounge. It offers free food all day with a full bar and spa services. I will definitely keep this in mind when I book my travel. I typically fly through DFW often for mileage runs as its out of the way to the west coast. Now I’ll look to route through here for the lounge.
