Sydney 2013: Madame Tussauds Sydney

Madame Tussauds Sydney

This was my second stop as part of the combination pack I bought earlier that day. It was right next to the WildLife Sydney Zoo.

In this wax museum, it was mostly made up of internationally famous people but there was a good quantity of Australian stars, some of whom I didn’t know where Australian.

The first part was of internationally famous people, like President Obama, Ghandi, and Queen of England.

The next section was sport figures. Below were some Australian Olympians.

Below was pretty awesome to see: Mark Webber. He is a F1 driver and I didn’t know he was Australian. I was a bit more interested in the car behind him but it was obviously not the real thing.

Below are other Australian sports players.

The next section was of musicians. Below is Olivia Newton John from Grease and was told by my wife just now that she is also Australian. Go figure.

Below was a section dedicated to One Direction. You can walk up to have your picture taken in the group. I did not so I took a picture of them for my friends who are big fans.

The next short section of the museum shows the history of Madam Tussaud. It also shows how the statues are made, with a lot of care taken to replicate the face.

The next collection is a mix of famous people.

This next section was famous TV people, some of whom are Australian and many are not.

Below is Toni Collette, whom I didn’t know was Australian as well.

Below is Audrey Hepburn and Alfred Hitchcock.

The next exhibit was the coolest part of the museum. Iron man! I didn’t think Tony Stark was Australian…

Next was Hugh Jackman, who I knew was Australian (for once).

I thought this would be very small but it was a good collection of wax figures. Again I wouldn’t pay the admission price for just this one museum but if there was some savings with a combination pass. I spent about 90 minutes looking at the different exhibits.
