I booked my wife on this flight as this was the only way home. I wanted to book her business class so she would have lounge access and that she wouldn’t have to rough it in coach.
She was actually flying out of a different terminal. We got off at Terminal 2 until we found out her flight was at Terminal 1. The pictures below is the indoor walkway connecting terminal 1 and 2.
I’m not exactly sure why the Helsinki Airport needed a train. The bus is very easy to get into downtown. Maybe it will offer more stops in between or take less time. The bus to the city also has a few stops along the way.

We walked down to terminal 1 and got her checked into her flight. She went to the lounge and relaxed for a bit before her flight. This was the SAS Business Lounge.
Luftansa HEL-MUC
This is the typical intra-European business class. Middle seat is blocked off and a meal is served.
She was served lunch as it was a late morning flight. She liked the meal.
She only had about an hour connection so she didn’t get a chance to go to the lounge at MUC. She did have to go through security again as she was departing on a non-schengen flight. She also got harassed a bit by security at Munich. At least the security agent admitted it was racial profiling and that it wouldn’t happen again next time. My wife thought that somehow she won’t be Asian the next time she flew? My wife didn’t think anything of it and actually pleased for her honesty.

Here are the rates:
- 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. €15/hr
- 10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.: €10/hr
- The minimum charge for using a Napcab is €30.
It’s not too bad but 30EUR is a bit steep. This could be a great option if you’re really tired and just need a few hours of sleep before your next flight.
Lufthansa MUC-BOS Business Class
The flight took off on time. As she got on, she realized that she wasn’t in the highest class of service, unlike her business class Aer Lingus flight. This made her a bit sad, which was pretty funny. I kept telling her how I could get her on a first class LH flight but via LAX but it was a bit too much flying for her. I had missed an opportunity to book her for first class to Boston.
My wife noted that the food was very good, including the beets.
