Antarctica Marathon 2014: Sheraton Libertador Review

This was a hotel I stayed at for a night before spending the next few nights at the Marriott Park Plaza that was booked by Marathon Tours.

Sheraton Libertador Hotel Review

Check in took a bit longer than usual. I waited about ten minutes before I got to check in. I was confirmed for a junior suite but I asked and managed to get into the presidential suite. They ensured me that it was exactly the same suite Jamison got a few months ago.

The suite was nice. The living room was pretty large and the kitchen was nice but there were no pots. There were tons of dishes, cups and saucers, but nothing to cook with. I think it was meant to serve people instead of cooking for them.

There was a separate work room.

The first picture is of the guest bathroom. The main bathroom had a small room for toilet, sauna, shower, and also Jacuzzi. The bedroom was also a good size as well.

The lounge was a good size, but on the weekends it is closed for a few hours. The spread was decent.

The pool was nice and the workout area was good too. There was an indoor area to sunbathe.

The elevator was pretty stupid in this hotel. If you wanted to go up from any floor other than the first floor, when you pressed the up button, an elevator would arrive but it always went back down. You would end up having to go all the way down and then back up. Sometimes if you were fast enough you could swipe your card and then press a button before it decided to go back downstairs. Also, one elevator was on the side so make sure to watch out for the LCD displays. The one on the far right shows the status of the elevator on the right side.

Overall, it was a good hotel with a nice fitness and pool area and lounge, but the elevators are just really annoying.
