Singapore Airlines First Class MEL-SIN-ICN-SFO Review
So I am definitely in the running for husband of the month as I managed to get my wife in the same first class seat (by design) for about 40 hours on our trip through Asia and to Australia. She took the 777 version of the first class seat. The first class suite wasn’t available for leaving Sunday night, but there was for Sunday morning.
Mistakenly, I booked her with the title Dr as I saw her do the same thing on another ticket she booked just a few days before I booked this one. Well that was a mistake and she didn’t want to be booked like that. Well at least by her third segment on this flight, she got used to the flight attendants calling her doctor. Luckily, there wasn’t a medical emergency on this flight, unlike her first class flight on Cathay Pacific the week before when she responded to a medical emergency.
One of the reason why she disliked being known as a doctor is because she didn’t want to perpetuate the notion that all doctors are rich in the US. They are not. Far from it. It was an unfortunate booking mistake on my part but it makes for a funny story.
Singapore Airlines Business Class Pictures:
MEL-SIN
This was definitely the most comfortable way to fly from Australia to the US. It was about 110k Singapore miles, which wasn’t bad for spending about a day on a plane.
The seat was very wide, as seen in the below pictures.
Travel Date: October 12, 2014
My wife had a small champagne tasting since she couldn’t figure out which one she wanted. She liked the Krug better than the Dom Perignon.
SIN-ICN
Just a short snack for the 4 hour flight. She had some curry satay.
ICN-SFO
The unfortunate part about this flight is that it stops in Seoul, South Korea. All passengers need to deplane, go through immigration and then get back on the plane. It takes about an hour for the whole process but just annoying none the less. I wanted to avoid this, but there was no other first class seat on Singapore to the US on that date.
Below are some pictures of the fully made bed. The flight attendants helped to make the bed, unlike other airlines.
This was served on landing into SFO.
I’m basically waiting for the AA deval so I can justify flying SQ F again.
That is a pretty good deal for that long in the airplane. How long did it take for your to build the itinerary? Fortunately she did not have to respond to a medical emergency. I know that can be stressful.
It took a few days of searching and I tried to get her back to Boston on SQ miles but they don’t mix with partners well, so I just booked it to SFO and booked her united revenue back to Boston.
