I arrived in Hong Kong from Brisbane on my way back to Boston on AA HKG-DFW-BOS. Here was my full flight from Melbourne:

- AA j HKG-DFW-BOS (via SWU)
When I arrived at Hong Kong at around 6am, I didn’t have my boarding pass for HKG-DFW so I went to the counter to check in for that flight. Unfortunately, it was another 7 hours until my flight so I couldn’t check in yet or get a boarding pass. My only option was to leave the airport so I decided to take a quick trip into the city to get something to eat.
I took the train directly into Hong Kong Station and found a good Milk Tea place right under the highway near the ferry terminal. This was my second time there on this trip:
Hoi On cafe

Once I picked up my cup of milk tea, I walked over to the ferry terminal and stumbled upon the Macau Restaurant (also called Florinda Cafe). The Macau Restaurant was Shun Tak Ferry Terminal, the same place that the Macau ferry was.
I haven’t had anything to eat yet so I decided to stop in and get the Macanese Crispy Bun and also Wonton Noodle soup. The Macanese Bun was very good. It is a toasted bun with condensed milk and butter on top. The butter was a bit weird but the condensed milk was really good. It is pretty normal to put condensed milk on toast in Hong Kong. The Wonton Noodle soup wasn’t as good as Mak’s Noodles in Kowloon but a solid bowl of noodles.
The Milk Tea was good too but the one at Hoi On Cafe was much better.
I also bought two of these to try as I never had a Portuguese Egg Tart. They were very good, much sweeter than the Chinese Egg Tarts because it is more of a creme brulee than an egg tart.
I love HKG it is an awesome city. I wish I could have gotten in on the deal this week. But every date I found the seatmap looked aweful so I didn’t book any. When there are only middle MCE seats available that means there are a lot of EXP’s on the flight so there will be too many people on the list. Did you book one though?
I booked one a few months ago, $500 but connects via PVG so I’ll be getting the old 772 angled lie flats. Already got my upgrades.
