The W San Diego Hotel located at 421 W B St., San Diego, CA 92101 suffered major water damage on Monday evening reported by San Diego Fire Rescue as a water line on the third floor cooling system ruptured. Flooding occurred on the Third, Second and First floor including the elevator shafts, elevator cars and elevator pits. Hotel management claims that guest rooms were not impacted and guest are not being evacuated at this time. The hotel did offer to accommodate guests at the Westin San Diego or the US Grant Hotel, a Luxury Collection property. Both are within a few blocks of the W San Diego Hotel.
Guests interviewed on the local news channel claim to have only access to the stair wells for entry and exit. Television news footage showed water flowing freely out of third floor window and into the underground parking garage.
