The fine print
All good deals come with fine print. The Groupon itself contains more fine print, but I tried to include the highlights:
- You must fly out of a west coast airport including LAX, SFO, OAK, SEA, PDX, SAN, and SMF
- You must travel during certain dates in April, May, August, September, October, and November 2016

Conclusion
This deal is excellent. Airfare on Hawaiian Airlines typically runs over $1,200 between New Zealand and the west coast cities, so you’re basically getting a free hotel room. You may even be able to credit your Hawaiian Airlines miles to American Airlines. In addition, you may be able to swap your hotel for a chain hotel of a comparable price which would allow you to credit those stays to the hotel’s elite program.
