Shower<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I wanted an ~8 hour layover in Amsterdam so I booked a flight on the 757-200 as opposed to American Airlines&#8217;s flagship 777-300. \u00a0The downgrade in quality was stark. \u00a0I flew from Philadelphia to Amsterdam, approximately a 7.5 hour flight.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000080\">Seats<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The 757-200 is a narrow-body aircraft\u00a0with a single aisle and\u00a03-3 seat configuration.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/76\/2017\/01\/20161217_201311.jpg\"><img data-attachment-id=\"1141\" board\u00a0through the door next to my seat, so I had to stand during the entire boarding process (~35 min). \u00a0If I did not need overhead bin space, I would have boarded later.<\/p>\n<p><a seats were ok&#8211;I was able to sleep for about 4 hours. \u00a0The recline was more than I&#8217;ve come to expect and the headrest was adjustable to the point where it almost cradled my head. \u00a0The legroom was amazing! \u00a0I&#8217;ve over 6&#8242; tall and I could almost fully stretch my legs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><a intermittently. \u00a0If you&#8217;re in the first row of economy, there is only one plug for the two seats.<\/p>\n<p><a my seat so I could listen to the programming (I had no control over what was shown). \u00a0Unfortunately, the delay (discussed below) lasted so long I mowed through my downloaded Netflix shows before the end of the flight. \u00a0The last movie we watched before landing was Julie &amp; Julia, a surprisingly delightful movie.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #000080\">Food<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>There was food and it was edible. \u00a0The alcohol was complimentary\u00a0and was drinkable.<\/p>\n<p><a covering the dessert.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000080\">Operational Issues<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Operational issues are becoming way too common on American Airlines flights these days (e.g., <a href=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/thetravelingmillennial\/2015\/12\/30\/stranded-in-ord-chicago-until-3am-on-christmas-part-2\/\">I was stuck in Chicago on Christmas Eve<\/a>). \u00a0We were delayed by over three hours which significantly reduced my layover in Amsterdam&#8211;I still went into the city to check it out. \u00a0The delay began when we waited\u00a0for passengers who were delayed by storms in the Mid-West. \u00a0Fine. \u00a0The passengers then boarded the plane and we were told our flight was again delayed to load luggage for the late passenger. \u00a0Fine. \u00a0After the luggage was loaded, we waited another hour for the ground crew to load cargo. \u00a0Not fine. \u00a0The pilot and flight crew were not happy about the situation and explained that it was &#8220;inexcusable.&#8221; \u00a0To make matters worse, the guy loading the cargo left to load another plane before he finished loading ours.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/76\/2017\/01\/20161217_223434.jpg\"><img data-attachment-id=\"1149\" left\">I have not yet called American Airlines to complain, but I expect they will offer me 5-8,000 miles for the inconvenience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Avoid the American Airlines 757-200\u00a0if at all possible. \u00a0I prefer the <a href=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/thetravelingmillennial\/2016\/11\/08\/review-americans-777-200-business-class\/\">American Airlines
