Lufthansa’s Germanwings Call for Strike Thursday

Looks like the pilots at Germanwings are going on strike Thursday. If you don’t know yet, Germanwings is a low cost carrier operated by Lufthansa. They serve many destinations across Europe, and is a partner of United Airlines. I recently had a fiasco trying book a United award ticket, which had some Germanwings segments, and it was so hard, I finally reached out to United and complained and complained until they put me on an alternate flight. The problem was Germanwings was NOT confirming seats, that showed available on the United website. I am now thinking if I had a confirmed Germanwings departure out of Cologne, my award ticket would’ve been all screwed up. Glad I changed that itinerary altogether.

On any note, this will affect flights to/from Berlin, Stuttgart, Cologne, Hamburg, Dortmund, Düsseldorf and Hannover.  If you have flights booked on the airline, you way want to check and see what your flight times are now, or if they are canceled altogether. Happy Travels.
