The falls itself is an awesome place to visit. With so many hiking trails around it, you can can spend a day venturing out into the forest, and enjoy the scenic pathways, and awesome wildlife, without having to travel where no man has gone before.  There is a marked, and paved trail that swirls all the way to the top, where you can view the entire Columbia River Gorge, but don’t even think about jumping off the top (yes, some people have tried). I hope you take advantage of this offer and visit.  With the recent popularity of Portland though, I recommend you hit up this place during the week and avoid weekends, as parking can get very tight!
