Avianca came out with another LifeMiles offer today. Purchase LifeMiles, and get up to 125% bonus! This is useful in topping off accounts that are short of a business or first class ticket on Star Alliance. However, I don’t recommend stockpiling them as before. They have devalued a bit, but are still a good program to use on Star Alliance carriers, such as United, Lufthansa, or Singapore. I tried to price out an itinerary for summer travel to Rome, from Portland, and it came to 126,000 LifeMiles in business class. However, availability was sort of terrible. You have some time to buy these miles if your interested, and as always, make sure you have a goal in mind when doing so. It’s totally not worth it just to collect them and pay over $1,000.
