Starwood Q2 2014 Promo: Earn Away, Get Away

Starwood Q2 2014 Promo is here!

Starwood has announced their next promotion: Earn Away, Get Away. With the SPG® Earn Away global promotion, beginning May 1st, earn triple points on stays that include a Sunday night (Saturday at hotels in the Middle East) through July 31, 2014. Any stay that does not include a Sunday night will earn double Starpoints (on eligible stays.) You must register by June 30, 2014 to participate.

You can register for this promotion here: Registration

Upon reading the fine print I found that “Eligible Stays with at least one night in the earning period will receive a bonus,” which means that if you have a stay checking out on May 2nd, you’ll earn the bonus on that stay – which is super for me as I fall into that bucket!

Here’s a little bit of the fine print:  Registered members can earn bonus Starpoints® for every eligible stay between May 1, 2014, and July 31, 2014 (the “promotion period”), at participating Starwood hotels and resorts.Members who earn double Starpoints will earn an additional two (2) Starpoints per eligible US$1 spent (for a total of 4 Starpoints per dollar). Members will earn an additional four (4) Starpoints per eligible US$1 spend (a total of 6 Starpoints per dollar) with eligible triple Starpoint stays. Elite-level extra Starpoint earnings and other bonuses will not be doubled or tripled. Only the base two-Starpoints-per-dollar earnings are doubled or tripled. There is no limit to the number of bonus Starpoints that can be earned during the promotion period. Offer is eligible with other Starpoint promotions, however each offer bonuses independently of each other and are not combinable. An Eligible Stay is defined as one or more consecutive nights paying an Eligible Rate in the same hotel regardless of the number of check-ins or checkouts that occur and post to the member’s Starwood Preferred Guest® account. Eligible Stays with at least one night in the earning period will receive a bonus. An Eligible Rate is any rate that is eligible to earn Starpoints in the Starwood Preferred Guest program. A description of SPG®-participating hotels and resorts and of Eligible Stays and Eligible Rates, can be found at spg.com under Terms & Conditions of the SPG program. See Section 1.4 b iii for the complete definition of Eligible Rates, but note that certain prepaid rooms, where the booking is made through a third party (including but not limited to travelocity.com, expedia.com, orbitz.com and delta.com), are not Eligible Rates and do not earn Starpoints or qualify for promotional earnings.

There are over 1,000 participating hotels and resorts. (You can find a list of non-participating hotels here.) Here’s the list of US Hotels not participating:
