Spreading Some Christmas Cheer at O’Hare Airport

Christmas Cheer at O'Hare AirportChristmas Cheer at O'Hare Airport

In a time where it feels like we are perpetually surrounded by bad news (Ebola, Economy, Sydney Siege, ISIS, Congress), what a refreshing thing I experienced on Wednesday night, December 16. While waiting for a my Chicago to Phoenix flight to depart from Chicago O’Hare Airport, one of the employees who was working at the American Airlines counter came on the PA system and said that he’d leave us all with a Christmas Carol.

He then began to sing a rousing rendition of It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Captivated, a little baffled, but full of holiday joy, I (and the hundreds of other people in the gate lounge area) watched with delight and were left with some much needed smiles on our faces.

I wasn’t able to start the video until he was well into the song, but you get the idea!

So, slow down, enjoy your travels, and most of all, Merry Christmas! Share this with your friends, and let’s try to get this expression of holiday joy to go viral!
