Buying Souvenirs

When you go on vacation do you collect something similar from every destination you visit?  One of the challenges of traveling and Buying Souvenirs is ensuring you have a way to get them home in your suitcase or ship them without breaking the bank.

I started traveling for business 10 years ago and quickly decided on postage stamps as my souvenir of choice.  Postage was easy to find, cheap and very easy to pack.  In fact, I lot the stamps I’d purchased on a few occasions and had to re-buy them.  I ended up getting a small little book that I could put them in and to this day, keep adding to the book.

Here are some of the stamps I’ve collected over time.  Sometimes I buy new stamps, in fact I typically try to buy new, non-cancelled postage, but sometimes there’s a historical stamp I’ll want or something special that’s not current.

I couldn’t pass up these commemorative stamps

  1. My SO gets a magnet from every place we go. Our fridge is covered. But it’s a cool reminder of all the awesome places we’ve been everytime we open the fridge.
