{"id":1401,"date":"2012-08-11T12:04:55","date_gmt":"2012-08-11T16:04:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/boardingarea.com\/blogs\/verygoodpoints\/?p=1401"},"modified":"2013-04-23T13:37:02","modified_gmt":"2013-04-23T17:37:02","slug":"my-7-59-airline-ticket","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/first2board.com\/verygoodpoints\/2012\/08\/11\/my-7-59-airline-ticket\/","title":{"rendered":"My $7.59 airline ticket"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m planning all of my travel for my December vacation and couldn&#8217;t believe my eyes when Kayak pulled up a $47 dollar ticket from Singapore to Langkawi, Malaysia on AirAsia. \u00a0I clicked over to the AirAsia website and sure enough, there was the $47 fare. \u00a0 Not only did I find the $47 dollar fare, but I actually found a fare on the next day for $7.59. \u00a0 I could not believe my eyes; this had to be too good to be true.<\/p>\n<p>I proceeded with the purchase. \u00a0What I quickly discovered was that there were a lot of add-ons. \u00a0The taxes were actually more than the ticket at $30.38. \u00a0One checked bag added $19.41. A seat assignment added $12.66. \u00a0OneWay AirAsia Insurance (which I could find no way to opt out of) added $5.06 and finally, a $4.22 processing fee brought the ticket total to $79.32.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/boardingarea.com\/blogs\/verygoodpoints\/files\/2012\/08\/AirAsia-Tix.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1402\" src=\"http:\/\/boardingarea.com\/blogs\/verygoodpoints\/files\/2012\/08\/AirAsia-Tix.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"504\" height=\"299\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So, my $7.59 ticket ended up costing $79.32 after all the fees.
