This week brought torrential rains to Charleston and created massive flooding in low-lying areas \u2013 which is all of Charleston.  So what&#8217;s a city to do when the streets flood and cars float?\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/boardingarea.com\/blogs\/verygoodpoints\/files\/2012\/08\/083012_0349_FloodingIns11.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>\n\t<\/p>\n<p>Many in Charleston turned to alternative modes of transportation.  Some got out their kayaks and paddled through the streets of downtown.\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/boardingarea.com\/blogs\/verygoodpoints\/files\/2012\/08\/083012_0349_FloodingIns21.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>\n\t<\/p>\n<p>Some people even turned to the horse and carriages typically used for giving tours of the city\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/boardingarea.com\/blogs\/verygoodpoints\/files\/2012\/08\/083012_0349_FloodingIns31.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>\n\t<\/p>\n<p>Some people just rolled up their pants and went about their shopping\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/boardingarea.com\/blogs\/verygoodpoints\/files\/2012\/08\/083012_0349_FloodingIns4.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>\n\t<\/p>\n<p>Others got out their inner-tubes and went for a float along the street\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/boardingarea.com\/blogs\/verygoodpoints\/files\/2012\/08\/083012_0349_FloodingIns5.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>\n\t<\/p>\n<p>Some people just didn&#8217;t heed the warnings and got stuck\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/boardingarea.com\/blogs\/verygoodpoints\/files\/2012\/08\/083012_0349_FloodingIns6.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>\n\t<\/p>\n<p>With so much rain, I wonder what modes of transportation people will turn to next.
