The goal is that Don Mueang will serve 27 million customers by 2016.\u00a0Suvarnabhumi Airport, the countries newer more modern airport serves about 60 million people a year.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4619\" alt=\"don_muang7\" src=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/verygoodpoints\/files\/2013\/06\/don_muang7.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" srcset=\"http:\/\/first2board.com\/verygoodpoints\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/\/sites\/2\/2013\/06\/don_muang7.jpg 500w, http:\/\/first2board.com\/verygoodpoints\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/\/sites\/2\/2013\/06\/don_muang7-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The aim of the renovation is to serve the growing number of passengers which is expected to grow at a rate of 33% each year.<\/p>\n<p>Paranee Wattanotai, the Director of Airport Services \u00a0said two more airlines have requested to use Don Mueang. Those include Indonesia&#8217;s Lion Air and AirAsia X, the long-haul and budget airline based in Malaysia. I&#8217;ve flown out of this airport 1 time since the floods, and it really needs the renovations. No one would want to get stuck here for any period of time. \u00a0The airport is old and outdated. All of the areas need updating to improve passenger flow.
