A survey from\u00a0CheapHotels.org<\/a>\u00a0lists what they say are the most expensive US Destinations.\u00a0The survey compared hotel rates for the travel period of\u00a0July 1\u00a0to August 31.<\/p>\n

The rankings were determined based on the average cost of each location’s cheapest available double room. As such, the prices mentioned reflect the minimum amount<\/span> travelers will have to spend to stay at a certain destination. Only those hotels rated two\u00a0stars or higher were considered for the survey.<\/p>\n

Cities in coastal\u00a0Massachusetts\u00a0ranked as the country’s most expensive destination. Coming in as second most expensive is\u00a0New Jersey’s\u00a0Cape May\u00a0with an average price of\u00a0$204\u00a0per night. Following closely in the number three spot is\u00a0Martha’s Vineyard. The most affordable double room in\u00a0Martha’s Vineyard\u00a0is averaging\u00a0$202\u00a0nightly this summer.<\/p>\n

The following table, according to CheapHotels.org, shows the 10 most expensive destinations in the\u00a0USA. The prices shown reflect the average rate for each destination’s cheapest available\u00a0double room for the time period spanning\u00a0July 1 through August 31, 2013.<\/p>\n
