Many airlines are adding additional flights to ship Super Bowl XLVIII fans into Newark from Denver and Seattle, the home cities of the Broncos and Seahawks.<\/p>\n

United is\u00a0adding 15 extra flights to its hub at Newark Liberty International<\/a>\u00a0Airport, the closest airport to MetLife Stadium.<\/p>\n

US Airways is\u00a0adding five additional Super Bowl flights<\/a>\u00a0between Seattle and Newark. The carrier will fly two flights from Seattle to Newark on Jan. 31 and three in the return direction on Feb. 3.<\/p>\n

Delta is adding two extra flights to its schedule and will substitute bigger planes on six existing New York City flights.<\/p>\n

JetBlue\u00a0is adding a total of four extra flights<\/a>\u00a0to and from its hub at New York JFK. The carrier will add one additional flight to JFK from both Denver and Seattle on Jan. 3 and will fly one extra flight from New York to those same cities on Feb. 3.<\/p>\n

Seattle based Alaska Airlines is pulling out all the stops. They are flying a special “Russell’s 12th Fan Airlift” party flight to Newark and\u00a0is giving away all of the seats for free<\/a>\u00a0 as well as two night’s lodging in Manhattan. But make sure you read the fine print- an invitation to “an exclusive game day party at a midtown Manhattan venue” is included but not Superbowl tickets themselves. Also, on all flights those wearing Russell Wilson jerseys departing from Seattle can board with priority status ahead of first class.<\/p>\n

And what would a Superbowl be without snacks? For those traveling on domestic\u00a0JetBlue Airways<\/a>\u00a0flights on Sunday evening, Feb. 2, JetBlue will be showing the game on their seatback televisions. Passengers will be provided with complimentary Snyder\u2019s Hot Buffalo Wing flavored pretzels and their first wine, beer or cocktail for $1. \u00a0Alaska Airlines will offer the first drink for free for flights departing Seattle.<\/p>\n
