Disney has raised Magic Kingdom prices by $4 to\u00a0$99 for adults and children ages 10 and older<\/a>. This is the second time in eight months Disney has raised their admission prices. Last June, daily admission rose from $6 to $95. Disney also announced increases for Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, where daily admission is up $4 to $94.<\/p>\n

The Magic Kingdom recently expanded its new Fantasyland area, doubling its size from 10 acres to 21. New attractions in Fantasyland include a clamshell ride called Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid, Ariel\u2019s Grotto, and the \u201cBeauty and the Beast\u201d-inspired Be Our Guest restaurant.<\/p>\n

The newest and largest attraction opening this spring in the Magic Kingdom is\u00a0 \u201cSeven Dwarfs Mine Train\u201d. This is a family friendly ride inspired by\u00a0Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The\u00a0ride has themed music that takes you through the seven dwarfs mines as well as the countryside.<\/p>\n

The \u201cDisney Festival of Fantasy Parade\u201d will also begin this spring at the Magic Kingdom. This new parade will feature the Disney animation tales of classics such as Peter Pan, Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, Dumbo and others. The parade will go down Main Street USA and feature many Disney characters including favorite, the Disney princesses. According to\u00a0Disney’s site<\/a>, there will be many brand new floats for the parade \u2013 including the impressive, 53-foot long Maleficent Dragon.<\/p>\n

Disney is also currently redoing the beloved Splash Mountain. It is currently closed for a major refurbishment and is expected to reopen on March 19, 2014. No word online on what exactly the revamp entails.<\/p>\n

Historically, the parks have followed one another in rising their admission prices. Last year,\u00a0Universal Orlando Resort<\/a>became was the first Orlando theme park to break the $90 mark upping their prices to $92 for a single-day, single-park ticket. Two weeks later, Disney announced they would also be jumping from $89 to $95. $99 is too close for comfort to double digits if you ask me. Will Disney or other parks surpass double digits soon?
