When I grow up I want to be\u00a0Anthony Melchiorri<\/a>. <\/strong>What an awesome job he has! \u00a0If you haven’t heard of Anthony Melchiorri, then you’re not a true hotel geek. \u00a0Anthony Melchiorri is the man behind Hotel Impossible<\/em>, the Travel Channels newest reality show where Melchiorri helps struggling hotels turn themselves around.<\/p>\n

If you haven’t seen the show, you must! It will change the way you look at hotels – forever! \u00a0It’s fun, interesting and very informative. It’s because of Melchiorri that I no longer use wooden luggage racks at hotels and wipe down the toilet bowl handle every time I check-in somewhere!<\/p>\n

Well, when you blog about hotels, and spend more than 80% of your life in hotels, tweeting with someone like Melchiorri is a dream come true. \u00a0So here’s how it unfolded (and yes, I’m still excited about it!)<\/p>\n

I responded to an tweet from Sheraton Denver Downtown. \u00a0They had posted something about Hotel Impossible<\/em> & Melchiorri which I found confusing – I wondered if Melchiorri had helped their hotel. \u00a0To my utter surprise, Anthony Melchiorri responded! \u00a0He did not work with the Sheraton Denver Downtown.<\/p>\n

Then, I replied to Melchiorri to let him know I thought his show was great. \u00a0And he actually responded! \u00a0How exciting. But wait…it gets better.<\/p>\n

I was so inspired and excited by the fact that he had tweeted back, that I then tweeted “tweeting with @AnthonyHotels is like hitting the jackpot for a hotel geek!” \u00a0 And, you guessed it, he responded – and retweeted!<\/p>\n

So, like I said, for a hotel geek it really doesn’t get any better than this. \u00a0I am a loyal show viewer – I DVR the show when I’m out of the country and I’m already watching re-runs. \u00a0 I can’t wait for more shows and really hope he does a “where are they now” episode.<\/p>\n
