{"id":800,"date":"2012-06-22T18:44:27","date_gmt":"2012-06-22T22:44:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/boardingarea.com\/blogs\/verygoodpoints\/?p=800"},"modified":"2013-04-23T13:44:23","modified_gmt":"2013-04-23T17:44:23","slug":"usairways-quietly-rolls-out-tsa-pre%e2%9c%93","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/first2board.com\/verygoodpoints\/2012\/06\/22\/usairways-quietly-rolls-out-tsa-pre%e2%9c%93\/","title":{"rendered":"@USAirways quietly Rolls out TSA Pre\u2713\u2122"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There was no fan-fare, no hub-bub&#8230;but it surely seems that US Airways is now participating in TSA Pre\u2713\u2122. \u00a0Although I&#8217;m already a member of the CBP Global Entry program, and can participate in\u00a0TSA Pre\u2713\u2122, I have been actively watching my US Air since US Air invited me to opt-in. \u00a0Today, for the first time, I noticed the status had changed to subscribed. \u00a0 After a little surfing, I noticed that there are several airports where US Air members who have been selected and have opted-in can\u00a0participate\u00a0in\u00a0TSA Pre\u2713\u2122<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/boardingarea.com\/blogs\/verygoodpoints\/files\/2012\/06\/USAirPreCheck1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-803\" src=\"http:\/\/boardingarea.com\/blogs\/verygoodpoints\/files\/2012\/06\/USAirPreCheck1-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If TSA determines a passenger is eligible for expedited screening through the TSA Pre Check vetting process, information will be embedded in the barcode of the passenger\u2019s boarding pass. \u00a0TSA reads the barcode at airport security checkpoints and the passenger may be referred to a lane where they will undergo expedited screening.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the Customs and Border Protection\u2019s (CBP\u2019s) Trusted Traveler programs, including Global Entry, SENTRI, and NEXUS, who are U.S. citizens and are flying on participating airlines are also eligible for the program. Trusted Traveler participants will need to enter their CBP-assigned PASS ID number in the \u201cKnown Traveler Number\u2019 field when booking travel reservations. Additionally, CBP Trusted Traveler participants can add their PASS ID number to their airline member profile to have the number automatically sent to TSA when booking reservations.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tsa.gov\/what_we_do\/escreening.shtm\">TSA Pre<span style=\"font-family: 'Lucida Sans Unicode', 'Lucida Grande', sans-serif\">\u2713<\/span>\u2122<\/a> is currently available for eligible passengers flying on participating airlines that have opted in at the following airport checkpoint locations:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/boardingarea.com\/blogs\/verygoodpoints\/files\/2012\/06\/USAirpreCheckAirports.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-802\" src=\"http:\/\/boardingarea.com\/blogs\/verygoodpoints\/files\/2012\/06\/USAirpreCheckAirports.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"581\" height=\"1789\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Let me know if you have been successful with\u00a0TSA Pre\u2713\u2122 and are a member of US Airways.
