<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"I visited Nashville last week for a conference and wanted to find a hotel\u00a0within an easy drive of the Gaylord Opryland, where the conference was held, and would count towards my 2015 Starwood Preferred Guest qualification. \u00a0 With the Sheraton booked I turned to the Four Points Nashville Airport.<\/p>\n
Based on previous US Four Points stays I was not expecting much and actually was just hoping for decent. \u00a0Upon check in I discovered that the hotel had just re-opened as a Four Points after a major renovation. \u00a0In fact, I was the first person to have stayed in the room I was assigned since the makeover.<\/p>\n
The lobby was large and had a small restaurant and bar. \u00a0There was a large seating area and work area in the lobby and of course, free wifi. \u00a0The front desk staff was very welcoming and friendly, but weren’t really up-to-speed on hotel information. \u00a0For example, I had a message waiting for me on my phone in the room. I tried to check it, but couldn’t figure out what the passcode was for the voicemail system. I asked the front desk, twice, and neither person knew how to check use the system or what the passcode might be. \u00a0I still have no idea what that message said.<\/p>\n
The room was bright and spacious. The carpet was very obviously brand new and everything was clean. \u00a0The bathroom had been redone and everything, including the bathtub grout, was white. \u00a0One thing I don’t like about the Four Points (or Aloft for that matter) are the shampoo\/conditioner dispensers mounted on the shower wall. \u00a0While the bathtub was clean, there was a giant puddle of shampoo. \u00a0The shampoo would wash away when I showered and by the next morning, it was back again. \u00a0 That was my only complaint about the room and the hotel for that matter. \u00a0The bed was comfortable and so were the pillows. \u00a0I was actually very pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the bed was.<\/p>\n
I wonder how long the hotel will remain in its current condition. \u00a0Based on other Four Point experiences, I suspect it won’t be long before it mirrors other Four Points. \u00a0 I have never had very good luck at Four Points in the United States, but have had great stays in Four Points abroad. \u00a0The Four Points Sydney is very nice as is the Four Points Perth. In fact, the Four Points Perth was fabulous.<\/p>\n
Would I stay at this hotel again? \u00a0If my stay was within the next 6-12 months I probably would book there again. \u00a0After that period, I would probably book, but be wary of what the condition might be. \u00a0 I plan to stay at a Four Points next week, so it will be interesting to see how it compares to the Four Points Nashville Airport.<\/p>\n
