Here&#8217;s what I learned about\u00a0the Peruvian traditions:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Wear Yellow Underpants<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yellow means good luck in Peru and the best way to welcome lady luck, according to Peruvians,\u00a0is to wear a pair of yellow underwear.\u00a0Tradition says, wear them inside out (but underneath your clothes) until midnight; then, at the stroke of midnight, flip them around. Run Around with Your\u00a0Suitcase<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Apparently, running around the street\u00a0with your suitcase ensures\u00a0that you will travel to someplace interesting in the next year. Eat 12 Grapes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Having 12 grapes \u2013 six green and six red \u2013 is key to having a prosperous new year. Grocery Shopping\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Go to the grocery store the day before New Year&#8217;s according to this Peruvian tradition. Aside from the green and red grapes, you\u2019ll want to pick up some limes, a bag of lentils, wheat and a stick of cinnamon. Here&#8217;s the recipe:\u00a0cut the\u00a0limes in half and place one half in the four corners of your home. This keeps bad energy away. \u00a0Fill your pockets with the lentils, wheat and cinnamon.
