this small church in the west end of town is a bit out of the way, but so. worth. the. effort. i was just as blown away by the mosaics and frescoes as i was by the hagia sophia.
getting there
from taksim, i took the funicular to the T1, rode it all the way to topkapı, then transfered to the T4 for a couple stops to edirnekapı, where it’s just a short walk (follow signs to kariye müzesi).
