i don’t know why i didn’t stop by here (aka Chùa Ngọc Hoàng or Ngọc Hoàng Điện) on Monday since it’s so close to The Lunch Lady (be careful crossing Điện Biên Phủ — the fact that i made it in one piece today should unlock an achievement!), but i’m glad i went back. i don’t remember the last time i was in a busy temple like this, probably over ten years ago in Hong Kong. it really was quite amazing being in there, the air heavy with incense, the man sounding the drums, the faithful and their joss sticks…
