Kawaii Overload: EVA Airways Hello Kitty Jet x 2, Business Class

it’s been an #avgeek dream of mine to ride the an EVA Airways Hello Kitty Jet, and when the opportunity came to go on back-to-back Hello Kitty Jets — in business — i couldn’t resist. i flew LAX-TPE in Royal Laurel class, and then TPE-ICN in Premium Laurel. i previously wrote about Royal Laurel, so i won’t repeat what i said there; i’ll just give you ALL THE HELLO KITTEH.

for those that are unfamiliar, the airline runs Hello Kitty-themed flights, where everything from the plane to the aprons the flight attendants wear to the toilet paper is themed. hold on to your hats (and bows), the kawaii starts now. oh and yes, i did wear my Hello Kitty Vans for this special occasion!

(as always, more pictures (of more ways they fit in Hello Kitty) on flickr!)

The check-in area at LAX.

There are special lines for the Hello Kitty flight.

I saw the fragile tag and asked the agent if I could have one — she threw in a sticker as well! SO CUTE.

Love love love the boarding pass stock.

The “Hello Kitty with Sanrio Family” plane

The Sanrio Family-themed Royal Laurel pillow. I’m a bit disappointed they didn’t include Pekkle (my favorite Sanrio character) but oh well.

Of course they theme their safety card as well.

The duck entree. I get the impression the economy meal is a bit more themed 🙁

The cups in the bathroom.

I wasn’t kidding about the toilet paper. (From which I made a scarf.)

In addition to the fall-themed menu, there are fall-themed coasters and cocktail napkins.

The special Hello Kitty check-in area at Taipei International Airport. It’s located on the back wall of Terminal 2.

The Hello Kitty kiosk. OMG SO CUTE.

Half of the check-in area.

Panorama of Gate C3.

Me and my friend.

They hand out special Hello Kitty Passports at the gate; you can stamp it with your destination. Collect them all!

SO CUTE.

Premium Laurel service (to Seoul) decked out in Hello Kitty.

THAT PILLOW.

Royal Laurel had the regular Cymbopogon stuff by Harnn, but the plane to Seoul had Hello Kitty-themed products in the lavatory! Hand sanitizer, lotion, eau de toilette, and facial spray. They’re all melon-scented.

Dessert on the flight to Seoul.

Of course I have to end in a Hello Kitty-themed selfie.

if you are a Hello Kitty fan you probably already know about these flights. the next time your travels take you to Asia, check the Hello Kitty flight routes (only certain flight numbers) and see if one works out for you! (keep in mind the LA service only operates as Hello Kitty on certain days.)
