Instawalk: The New High Line Extension Opened Today

one of my usual spots in New York City is the High Line — and i’ve eagerly awaited the final section that winds its way west towards, then up, the Hudson River all the way to 34th Street. (the High Line is a stretch of old elevated train tracks transformed into an urban park/garden.)

the arrow on the map above is around where the High Line used to end — it now curves left and loops around the Long Island Railroad train yard before dropping down to 34th Street. there is a new children’s play area as well as the benches and plantways (that’s not a word, but i’m making it one now) we’re used to.
