my friend danny<\/a> is raising money for his next album, and i thought i’d just dedicate a post to him. not like i have a ton of readers, but hey, if even one of you donates, my work here is done.<\/p>\n

you’re probably wondering what this has to do with travel, but of course, it does. not only does he make great music (imho), but when i visited japan last year<\/a> he took the time out to not only give me tons of japan tips but also hang out with me in tokyo even though we were only twitter friends thus far (via a friend of his who i also met through twitter, and later in real life).<\/p>\n

for the simple fact that he managed to go out with me after his day job alone, you should donate! \ud83d\ude00 (this is, by the way, the first thing i’ve ever kickstarted.)<\/p>\n

i’ve rummaged through my past just to show y’all what a great guy he is. let’s see here.<\/p>\n

we had dinner twice (the second one of which was at my namesake restaurant because i expressed interest in it):<\/p>\n

and among other places, he showed me around shibuya (including the starbucks, with a bonus post-starbucks strike-a-pose):<\/p>\n

and he also helped me buy a little bottle of stain remover (not easy to do if you neither speak nor read japanese) because my hoodie got what appeared to be a soy sauce stain in the overhead bin on the plane (?) and took me to a don quijote (\u30c9\u30f3\u30fb\u30ad\u30db\u30fc\u30c6)<\/a> (not quite sure how to describe it — a trashy dollar store?), neither of which require a picture, despite the fact that i have them.<\/div>\n
