finally, some time to check out the sights of Rio after working so hard this week. (all i got to do here otherwise was go to the beach. at night.<\/a>)<\/p>\n

i was initially a bit taken aback by the price to take the train up and get admission to the statue (R$46, or about $24), but it really is worth it. the tram slowly makes its way up the mountain passing through the largest urban forest<\/a> (in this case, a rain forest) in world, emerging at the top of Corvocado mountain. <\/p>\n

protip<\/strong> sit on the side of the train closest to the platform for the best views. for the most part, the other side just has an up-close view of the mountainside.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
