{"id":3430,"date":"2013-08-11T11:46:32","date_gmt":"2013-08-11T18:46:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jett.in\/?p=3430"},"modified":"2013-08-11T11:46:32","modified_gmt":"2013-08-11T18:46:32","slug":"instawalk-the-szimpla-kert-ruin-pub","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/first2board.com\/wanderlusty\/2013\/08\/instawalk-the-szimpla-kert-ruin-pub\/","title":{"rendered":"Instawalk &#8212; The Szimpla Kert Ruin Pub"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>i could have spent hours in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.szimpla.hu\/en\">Szimpla Kert<\/a> exploring every nook and cranny. it&#8217;s supposedly the best &#8220;ruin pub&#8221; (<em>romkocsma<\/em>) in Budapest, a trend that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.com\/travel\/feature\/20110809-exploring-the-ruin-pubs-of-budapests-seventh-district\">the BBC describes<\/a> as:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A string of hipster bars in formerly abandoned buildings mix the atmosphere of a chill Berlin squat with the revelry of a smallish Munich beer hall.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>simply put, it&#8217;s a dilapidated, abandoned building filled with amazingly cool trash art and several bars (this one also had hookahs). they have frequent live music events as well (check the website for a schedule). so many rooms and nooks and crannies full of well, junk, to discover. definitely worth a visit if you&#8217;re near the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Doh%C3%A1ny_Street_Synagogue\">Doh\u00e1ny Street Synagogue<\/a> (which you should be at least once in your visit). even if you&#8217;re not needing a drink, just go in, get a bottle of water or a coke and explore. i had to stop taking Instagram pictures or i would have probably brought down the service.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/jonk\/9485704425\/\" title=\"Wow they weren't kidding when they called this place the prototypical ruin pub! by jon|k, on Flickr\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.staticflickr.com\/2841\/9485704425_cb51dd93e0_z.jpg\" width=\"612\" height=\"612\" alt=\"Wow they weren't kidding when they called this place the prototypical ruin pub!\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/jonk\/9485719903\/\" title=\"upload by jon|k, on Flickr\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.staticflickr.com\/2824\/9485719903_da69426d26_z.jpg\" width=\"612\" height=\"612\" alt=\"upload\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/jonk\/9488535460\/\" title=\"Seriously this place needs to be seen to be believed.
