when in Osaka, one of the must-try foods, “they” say (and i agree), is okonomiyaki<\/a>, a grilled scramble of all sorts of goodies, often topped with mayo and a savory sauce. SO GOOD. on my last trip to the area three years ago, i had it at a small shop (Okonomiyaki Chitose<\/a>) where the chef cooked it in front of me.<\/p>\n

tonight, with my parents in tow, we went to Dotonbori<\/a>, a glitzy commercial center of Osaka because i didn’t visit in 2011 and i really wanted to see the Glico Man<\/a>*. we hadn’t really eaten\u00a0lunch since we were in transit from Takayama<\/a>\u00a0without time to grab some ekiben<\/a>, but thanks to\u00a0Foursquare i saw there was a highly-rated restaurant in the area: Ajinoya<\/a>.<\/p>\n
