my family is off day tripping to Bratislava today (on my recommendation, but since i’m working in the afternoon, i couldn’t go with) so i was free to do whatever. not quite sure what to do, though, i figure i might as well head on over to the third district (to the east of the city center) and visit the Hundertwasser House<\/a> and Kunst Haus Wien, two buildings designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser<\/a> and his two collaborators, Josef Krawina and Peter Pelikan. (i’m calling those two out mostly because, i learned through Wikipedia<\/a>, there was a big controversy over credit and naming.)<\/p>\n

in Vienna, Hundertwasser also designed a municipal incinerator (the M\u00fcllverbrennungsanlage Spittelau<\/a>), but as it’s a bit further afield, i did not visit.<\/p>\n
