Marriott announced that they are adding the Gaylord Hotel properties to their portfolio. Starting Oct 29, 2012, you can start enjoying all the Marriott benefits when staying at the Gaylord properties including earning points, miles, and Elite nights and redeeming for free nights.

The properties that are included are:

It is a category 6 hotel so reward nights are 30k points/night
This property is near Orlando and Disney World and has a Cypress Springs Family Fun Waterpark!

Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, TX
This is a category 6 hotel with 30k points/night for free night redemption. Grapevine is near the Dallas-Fort Worth area and is known for Grapefest which is an annual event of live entertainment, wine tastings, and arts & craft vendors. Grapevine also has a quaint downtown with antique and other shops.

Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, MD
This is a category 5 hotel which requires 25k points/night. The city is only 8 miles south of Washington DC and the waterfront has shopping, dinning, and entertaining near by.

The Gaylord Opryland Resort is currently not included in earnings and redemption, however, they did mention that we should see something in 2013.
