I was pleasantly surprised at my stay at the Holiday Inn & Suites at Virginia Beach. What is great about the hotel is that rooms have ocean views which makes it great to see in the morning or leave your patio door open to sleep to the sound of the ocean. The hotel is also at the north end of the boardwalk which makes it feel less crowded than if you were to stay further south.
The beds were extremely comfortable and they make you feel welcome.
As a Platinum member I also received free breakfast buffet for me and a guest. The breakfast was great! It had bacon & sausage, fruit, pastries, waffles or pancakes, and you can have omelets made to order.
What I think makes this hotel great for kids is the outdoor and indoor heated pool area
a kids area to interact with turtles,
and a movie theater with scheduled movies throughout the day.
Looking at the website, the hotel could run close to $300 during Labor Day weekend but you can book a room with 35,000 IHG points.
I highly recommend this hotel for families with kids.
Also if you would like more recommendation on festivals or places to eat on VA beach, check out this post.
Another to thing to note is that up to four kids ages 12 and under eat free any time of day. Each kid meal averages about $8, so if you ate all your meals at the hotel with four kids in tow, you’d get almost $100 worth of free meals per day (3 meals x $8 x 4 kids). The breakfasts are great, and the restaurant by the outdoor pool is pretty good.
That’s a great tip and makes it even better..thanks!
