I booked the Sheraton Detroit Metro Airport hotel using 4,000 Starpoints which was a great value because the hotel was going for $169+taxes. I value 4,000 Starpoints to be at least 3 cents per point and I definitely got more than $120 worth. The Sheraton Detroit Metro airport hotel is situation 3 minutes away from DTW airport and 3 minutes away from the car rental agencies.

I checked into the hotel at 1:30pm and asked the front desk agent if there were any suite available (I checked beforehand and there were suites for sale). The agent furiously typed into his computer and said a suite was available and he asked me what type of Platinum amenity would I like. I chose the 500 Starpoints as my Platinum amenity and he advised me that Wi-Fi was free for Platinum guests.
I went up to my suite and was surprised that the living room and bedroom was just separated by a connecting door. The bedroom was just a standard room with a bathroom and shower.
Through the connecting door, you will find a massive living room section with a wetbar, fridge, microwave, a sectional soft with a lizard trunk ottoman.
In addition, there was a conference room table with seating for six and another bathroom that just looked identical to the previous bedroom.
I went up to the Club Lounge for evening appetizers and there was a selection of various cheeses, crackers, cookies, vegetable tray with ranch dipping, and crab cakes.
I didn’t get a chance to see what the breakfast offerings were at the Club Lounge since I had an early flight out of DTW Airport.
Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel if you have an early flight or need a place to crash near DTW Airport. It’s only 30 minutes to downtown Detroit and 35 minutes to Ann Arbor, so it makes it a great base hotel. The hotel does offer a free complimentary shuttle to and from DTW Airport, but I didn’t need it since I rented a car.
