Summer is coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean that summer is officially over! Here are five things to do before summer travel season ends:
5. Squeeze in one more trip
Since summer travel is coming to a close, it’s quite possible to squeeze one more trip in before or during the long Labor Day weekend. Use 4,500 Avios for short hop destinations close to your home airport. I wrote about How to Trip Plan a Quick Jaunt to Las Vegas On A Budget Using Miles And Elite Status.
4. Double check your flights for fall travel
Were there any schedule changes? You might not have gotten an e-mail but your aircraft might’ve been swapped or your seat could’ve changed. I wrote about how Major Airlines Issuing Schedule Changes For the Fall Season.
3. Double check your upcoming hotel reservations
Are the dates and rates correct for your hotel bookings? You might want to see if there are lower rates. Mommy Points wrote a good post on Rebooking a Hotel Reservation to Save Money.
2. Register for Fall promotions
Marriott’s Megabonus Fall promotion is out. SPG and Hyatt promotions were recently announced. IHG launched a “crack the case” type promo where you can earn a lot of points by performing certain tasks. See this Flyertalk thread about the Big Win promo.
1. Analyze your airline and hotel loyalty goals
Do you have enough EQM’s to re-qualify for Executive Platinum this year? There are four full months left of reaching your targeted goal. How many more stay or night credits do you need to reach your targeted hotel elite status? Are you planning ahead? I recently posted my Mid-Year Evaluation and found myself on track for 2013 due to advanced planning.
What are your hotel & airline loyalty goals for 2013 and have you reached them yet?
