Arrival

My wife and I arrived for our Sunset Sail on an AdventureCat Catamaran about 30 minutes before the departure time.

Other guests were already waiting in front.

We spend a few minutes walking around Pier 39 and admired the sea lions before proceeding to the waiting area when a staff member arrived.

When we arrived at the dock entrance, the staff member greeted us warmly, introduced himself and asked for our name. The staff member welcomed us and he checked us in for the sail. The staff member informed us that we would be boarding in a few minutes.

About 10 minutes before the scheduled sailing time, the staff members invited guests to board and lined up and made our way out to the catamaran.

Another staff member was standing outside the ship. The staff member greeted us and asked for our name. After we provided it, he thanked us and welcomed us on board.

The passengers were invited to sit around on the deck in the catamaran or to go inside and sit at the tables and chairs.

The staff members announced that the front of the catamaran on each corner might get wet from the waves when we were cruising out onto the bay.

The staff members informed guests that warm coats were available for use during the sailing if guests got cold.

The staff members also provided safety instructions for the tour and discussed the life jackets before the tour began.

The staff member told guests that once the catamaran was out in the bay and the sails were raised, that the bar opened and each guest could order two drinks.

An announcement was made about the bar being opened. The staff members also said that if guests wanted more than two drinks each, they could purchase them.

The catamaran sailed out into the bay and we were given an excellent perspective on the city as we moved away towards the Golden Gate Bridge.

After going under the bridge, the Captain drove the tour a little way out so we could see the rock formations and continue to watch the sun set.

The staff members on the catamaran were friendly and they were walking around engaging guests in conversation as well as they offered to take pictures for guests.

The views were incredible as the sun went down.

We visited the bar and noted that there were a couple beer options, wine, soda and water available for guests.

We enjoyed a beer and wine and found them to be excellent.

A buffet was setup with snacks; however, my wife and I were not hungry at that point so we did not sample them.
