Daily Getaways Back with a New Date

Daily Getaways, sponsored by the US Travel Association (a non-profit dedicated to promoting US travel), will be back again this spring! I received an email today that this year’s spring dates will begin on March 23rd. Historically the Daily Getaways run for about two weeks.

Daily Getaways are limited offerings of great discounted deals involving various travel brands and loyalty programs. The offerings include hotel packages, points/miles purchases, rental car deals and more. The Daily Getaways usually run for about a month. Some of the past deals have included the option to purchase IHG Points, Hyatt points, and Club Carlson points. There have also been deals to buy vacation packages at spas and resorts around the country.

In the past Daily Getaways has been co-sponsored by American Express and using your AMEX branded card would give you a 10% discount on the price of deals. Itlooks as though this year, however, the program may be run by the US Travel Association alone. In the announcement email it states: This year, all card types are eligible to receive the same great savings. Quantities are limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Daily Getaways are open to all US Residents in possession of a qualified credit card.

In the past, the Daily Getaways are previewed in advance and on the designated day, the Deal is up for grabs on the Daily Getaway website starting at 1 p.m. If there is a deal you have your eye on, it is best to be at your computer at the stroke of one o’clock because the desirable deals have been known to sell out in minutes! Does this mean that you won’t be able to take advantage of the promotions? No, because often deals are not sold out and sometimes are ‘returned to the pot’ so to speak. The calendar provided by Daily Getaways will let you know which items have sold out … and which items you may have a second chance to purchase.

The Daily Getaway website will offer a preview of this years offerins on March 16th. Although the10% American Express Discount may not be around, you may find something that helps you in your travel goals.
