La Quinta Resort & Club, a Waldorf Astoria Resort Hotel Review Part 2

The reason why the rates are so low at this hotel is because the weather is scorching hot during the summer. It peaked at 113 degrees this past Monday and it’s considered off-season for the resort. The hotel clerk even mentioned to me that occupancy level was at 20% when I checked in this past Monday.

It’s relatively easy to use the $100 resort credit at the La Quinta Resort & Club Hotel. There are three restaurants at the resort and they are Twenty 6, Adobe Grill, and Morgan’s in the Desert. After checking in at 11am and settling into the room, we headed to restaurant Twenty 6 for lunch which serves American cuisine.

Since it was so hot and we came in sweating from walking around, the server immediately brought us a pitcher of ice cold water.

We had the caprese flatbread, beef sliders with tater tots and onion rings.

The flatbread was really good, but the beef sliders were pretty bland. The tater tots were absolutely crispy and delicious. Lunch set us back at $40 (tip included).

For dinner, we had lunch at Adobe Grill at around 6pm which serves Mexican cuisine. There was plenty of outdoor seating, but of course no one is going to be sitting out in the 100 degree heat.

I just love the décor inside the restaurant.

The server brought out complimentary chips and two kinds of salsa.

We ordered guacamole which was made tableside by our fantastic server.

I ordered the chicken mole and my friend ordered chicken fajitas with rice, beans, guacamole, and sour cream.

The food was absolutely amazing and the guacamole is to die for. Dinner set us back at $70 (tip included).

As I mentioned previously, breakfast for 2 is very generous at this resort. You can basically order anything off the menu at restaurant Twenty 6 for breakfast and it will not show up on your folio.

The server brought out a peach banana smoothie in a shooter glass compliments of the chef.

I ordered an Absinthe Celestial Tea. Yes, it’s 5 o’ clock somewhere….

I ordered lump crab cake eggs benedict and my friend ordered scrambled eggs with ham and hash browns. We decided to try their French toast with berries as a breakfast dessert.

Needless to say we could not finish everything and took home a little bit of everything. The lump crab cake was delicious and they gave a generous amount of crab meat. The French toast was to die for and was absolutely amazing. The total came out to $90 and I tipped $20, none of which appeared on the folio.

I would highly recommend visiting the La Quinta Resort since you can get a huge return out of a $99 stay using the American Express Fine Hotel and Resorts program. The staff is amazing and this property is a top notch Waldof Astoria Resort in the Hilton portfolio. Be aware that the rates are higher during the cooler months and when Coachella & Stagecoach come into town.
