Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Golf & Spa Resort Hotel Review

I booked the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Golf & Spa hotel for $139.16 on a BRG (Best Rate Guarantee) rate. I chose this hotel because of its close proximity to the Westin and I couldn’t pass up this amazing BRG rate where I would receive my Starwood Platinum benefits in addition to 2,000 Starpoints as my BRG reward.

It was a $20 USD overpriced cab ride from the Westin Los Cabos and took me 15 minutes to arrive at the beautiful Sheraton Hacienda del Mar hotel.

I checked it at noon and the front desk agent advised me that my room was not ready. I had applied a Suite Night Award and was confirmed into a Luxury One Bedroom suite five days before my arrival. As my welcome amenity, I chose the continental breakfast option. The front desk agent also advised me that as a Platinum member, I could receive two free drinks at the Tequila Bar.

My room was ready thirty minutes later and I was absolutely blown away by my suite. Here is a video I made of the suite:

The living room area contained a TV, sofa, dining table for four, and a kitchen with a full size refrigerator.

The bedroom area contained a king size bed and a Jacuzzi with access to an outdoor balcony.

The main bathroom contained Bvlgari bath amenities and a shower.

The best part about the room was the amazing view of the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar private beach.

In the afternoon, I strolled down to the courtyard area adjacent to the Tequila bar.

Thanks to a tip from Pat on Twitter, I used the Platinum free drink on the tequila tasting sampler. Here is a video I made of Victor (the bartender) serving the tequila tasting:

The three types of tequila were Anejo Tequila Corazon, Anejo Tequila Lapis, and Jose Cuervo Reserva de la Familia.

The three types of tequila were served with lime and salt. All three tequilas tasted great.

One of the best parts about the hotel is the pool facilities.

There is an amazing infinity pool overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

There is also beach access, but the waves were treacherous just like at the Westin.

For breakfast, I was not that hungry so I used my continental breakfast voucher on a smoothie at the Tomatoes restaurant. Be aware that the voucher is strictly continental (meaning cold items) and the buy-up to a full hot buffet is $10 extra.

I would definitely highly recommend this hotel if you plan to spend most of your time at this resort. There is absolutely nothing remotely outside within walking distance of the resort. I would highly recommend that you rent a car if you are staying at this hotel and wish to downtown Cabo San Lucas. I wish I did because I ended up spending $20-$30 on one-way cab rides everywhere.
