It was my first time in San Antonio and I didn’t know what to expect from the downtown scene. Downtowns are supposed to be lively and the center of everything. Well, that’s not the case during a Tuesday afternoon stroll in downtown San Antonio.

The streets were barren and downtown San Antonio was dead.
There is one large shopping complex called the Rivercenter Mall. There was hardly anyone shopping.
Downtown San Antonio is basically surrounded by hotels, restaurants, and bars.
However, there was a quaint farmer’s market in the Main Plaza with live music.
In the Main Plaza, there’s a beautiful water fountain along with Dia de Los Muertos displays outside the San Fernando Cathedral.
Across the street from the Main Plaza was the Bexar County Courthouse.
I headed down to San Antonio Market Square which is basically the old town that is filled with shops and restaurants. The decorations were festive, but it was dead as well.
Market Square contains a plethora of shops if you’re into Mexican handicrafts.
I walked back towards the direction of my hotel to check out the Eastern part of downtown San Antonio.
I visited the famous Alamo and the nearby Courthouse.
Nearby was the Tower of the Americas which is located in San Antonio Park.
There was a historic monument that looked like an open door.
There’s also several water fountain displays with monuments in San Antonio Park.
