Sheraton Deira Dubai Hotel Review

I booked the Sheraton Deira Dubai Hotel on a Starwood BRG Rate (Best Rate Guarantee) for 242.05AED ~ $65.90 USD + taxes = $ 79.08 USD. The Sheraton Deira is located in the working class neighborhood of Deira which is Old Dubai. This hotel is also very close to Dubai International Airport (DXB) and I made it a base for exploring Deira.

The best way to get to the Sheraton Deira is by Dubai metro since it’s an 11 minute walk from Abu Baker Al Siddique Metro Station 2. Since we had a rental car, I drove from the Le Meridien Fairway to the Sheraton Deira hotel which only took 11 minutes. Parking was fairly easy as we had complimentary valet because we were guests at the hotel.

The hotel was quite busy at the front desk, yet no one was at the SPG Gold & Platinum desk.

The front desk agent informed us that our room was ready and that we had been upgraded to a Junior Suite. I took the 500 Starpoints Platinum welcome amenity since breakfast was at the Club Lounge. The agent also advised us the Club Lounge was also available for evening appetizers later that day.

The Junior Suite consisted of a dining room table with four chairs, sofa, and TV.

There was also an elevated platform in the Junior Suite where the work desk was located.

The minibar table in the living room had some sort of CD, USB, AM/FM Radio player along with a coffee maker, and mini bar alcoholic drinks and snacks for sale.

The bedroom was open since it was a Junior Suite and had a swivel TV with a King size bed.

The bathroom was small and consisted of a single basin sink with the usual Sheraton bath amenities and a bathtub/shower combo.

I went down to the Club Lounge in the evening for complimentary appetizers and noticed that the SPG Elite desk was empty.

The evening spread consisted of a fattoush salad, hummus, mini sandwiches, and two types of hot appetizers (one being unidentifiable and the other, onion rings).

There was also whole fruit and savory snacks available on the table.

I wasn’t that hungry, so I just grabbed a can of coke with the cool Arabic writing.

Breakfast the next morning was also at the Sheraton Club Lounge and consisted of grilled halloumi cheese, boiled eggs, turkey bacon, chicken sausage, rosti potato, baked beans, and French toast.

There was also bread, assorted nuts, pound cake, pastries, and muffins.

The cold selections included cereal, assorted fruit, yoghurt, hummus, deli meat, cheeses, cucumber, smoked salmon, tomatoes, and a fruit salad.

I had a little bit of everything since I was hungry.

The server also informed me that I could order eggs (any style) including omelets and I obliged for the latter. I had the omelet with all the toppings and it was delicious.

I really like the Sheraton Deira Dubai Hotel for the amazing SPG Platinum treatment from the service at the valet to the suite upgrade and the great breakfast spread. The location of the Sheraton Deira is not that far from Downtown Dubai, but it’s great as a base for exploring the Deira neighborhood. There are also a lot of great kebab restaurants and inexpensive Pakistani and Indian food joints within walking distance of the hotel. I would definitely highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking for an inexpensive stay in Dubai and it’s really close to a metro station if you want to head downtown.
