Singapore 2014: Bicycle Tour of Sentosa Island and Adventure Cove Waterpark

I walked over to Sentosa Island on the bridge in the morning when it is cool. There are people movers in/out of the park, but you will need to walk from the park entrance to Universal Studios, where the tram station is. You can take the tram behind the Universal Park entrance down to the beach. The tram is free leaving the park and within Sentosa Island. I walked in around 8am so I managed to walk into the park without paying the $1 fee.
There are a large number of restaurants right in front of Universal Studios. I wasn’t going to fly halfway around the world just to come to Universal Studios so I passed on the park. I walked around the pavilion area before heading down near the beach to rent a bicycle.
I caught the tram at Merlion Plaza (giant lion statue) and went down to the Beach station. From far away you can see some overwater bungalows. I do not believe they are rooms for rent but part of a set.
Bicycle rental at Santosa Island is cheap, $8 per hour (student only, regular $12), 15 for two hours (for anyone). I would recommend this over the bicycle tour. It is a short ride down the two beaches so you can’t really get lost. I would say skip the explorer tour and do it yourself. I can’t imagine them telling you more than what is there. There is no other route other than up/down the beach. Here are a few pictures of the view from the road.
Adventure Cove Waterpark
After the bicycle tour, I had to go back home and get some swimwear so I can go to the waterpark. It was a hot day and it was much cooler at the waterpark.
The waterpark is very small but affordable. No crowds when I was there, but some people noted it can be bad with crowds, especially on the weekend or school holidays.
There are rental lockers at a few changing areas around the park. Many of them need cash but a few in each area accept credit cards. I didn’t have to use any of my SGD inside the waterpark.
This was a small lounge area above inside the rock structure. It was a nice way to relax out of the sun.

The next activity was the snorkel tank. Its part of the waterpark, but not really worth it if you have to wait a long time for it.

This area was a lot of fun, even for adults. You climb up the fort to come down the slide. Every two or three minutes, a huge bucket tips over, pouring water over much of the area.
