Travel is so rewarding that it should take precedence over other things younger people spend money on.

while i think this is true for all ages, not just youth, i am a firm believer that exposure to other environments and cultures when you are in your late teens/early twenties (when you can really begin to appreciate it) has the potential to be life-changing. the same can’t be said for a new pair of shoes or a flashy car.
